pia Wüstenberg

My approach to design is informed by details of beauty and a pursuit of imperfection and uniqueness . With admiration for the handmade, in particular the local European craft traditions and workshops, I have specialised in finding relevance for traditional skills and materials in todays living environment.

My work seeks to create objects rich in narrative and with a transparent  and comprehensible lifespan.

I believe that humans are strongly shaped by their culture, and the objects we choose to own, use or create within our (cultural) life have a reach further then their immediate presence. How and where they are made, how and where they are bought, matters.

“As a designer, I write the story of the object I create. It is my design philosophy to write a story of beauty in all aspects related to my design output.”
